Keyboard Shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts make our lives easier. Here is a quick list of some useful shortcuts available in SimNation:

General Controls

F1 / F2 / F3	Switch to Live, Build, or Buy mode. F1 hides/shows main panel
F4	Property mode
F5	Options mode
F12	Enter/exit 3D mode (if enabled)
Ctrl + H	Open the chat window
Ctrl + / -	Increase/decrease chat text size
Enter	Type in chat/send message
Ctrl + S	Save the current lot for use in Sandbox
Ctrl + F	Save Lot Facade (Exports the lot into a OBJ format for editing)
Ctrl + P	Property log

House Controls

Page Up / Page Down	Next/previous floor
Home / End	Next/previous wall mode

Camera Movements

↑ / ↓ / ← / → (or WASD)	Move up/down/left/right
+ / -	Zoom in/out
, / .	Rotate left/right
Right click + drag mouse	Move camera
Hold scroll wheel	Free spin in 3D mode and 2D hybrid

Tab	Access screenshot mode
↑ / ↓ / ← / →	Move up/down/left/right
W / A / S / D	Move smoothly up/down/left/right
Shift + W / A / S / D	Move quickly up/down/left/right
E / Q	Ascend/descend
Pan	Move mouse

Object Placement Tools

Delete	Delete object
Hold Shift + left-click	Place multiple of the same object continually
I	Place the selected object in your inventory

Build Room Controls

Shift + drag	Create room/fenced area
Shift	Fill room with wallpaper/flooring
Left-click and drag	Place walls, etc. Drag to place multiple
Ctrl + left-click	Remove walls, etc.

Terraforming Controls

Terrain tool: Ctrl + left-click	Create or remove curved hills (terrain)
Grass tool: Ctrl + left-click	Remove grass

Sim Controls

Left click Sim portrait	Focus camera on selected sim
Right click Sim portrait	Lock camera to Sim

1 / 2 / 3	Regular/fast/ultra speed
P	Pause time
